Blempglorf
Where is this word “blempglorf” from? Why has it emerged into consciousness from the unknown corners of memory? Why are there currently only 4 search results for it in Google (until this page gets indexed)? My only hope is that someone with the answer (to the first question, at least) finds this post and leaves a comment.

To the best of my knowledge, BLEMPGLORF first appeared in a book called HOW TO BE FUNNY by Jovial Bob Stine (later RL Stine, creator of the Goosebumps books.)
HTBF was marketed at kids between 9-12. I should not have read it. It did not make me funny. It made me annoying.

YES! Thank you Steve! And I always wondered if “Jovial Bob” and “R.L.” were the same Stine. I think that book had the same effect on me.

Well, you are welcome. Jovial Bob also wrote a book called DON’T STAND IN THE SOUP, which was very funny to me when I was 11.
